It seems like iPad users have something new and better to watch out for next year. Bloomberg obtained a piece of information about Apple Inc.’s plan on rolling out a larger version of its iPad. According to sources, the new iPad will measure 12.9 inches.Production is set to begin in the first quarter of 2015.
Apple is reportedly suffering from a huge decline in sales of its 10-inch and 7.9-inch tablets. This has something to do with the fact that people replace iPads less frequently than expected. While Apple’s tablets are not hitting the mark, larger smartphones made by Samsung Electronics Co Ltd and other manufacturers are gaining popularity and doing better in terms of sales.
Sources said that Apple has been working with its suppliers for over a year on developing or manufacturing larger touch-screen devices.
The company is expected to unveil larger versions of its 4-inch iPhone next month. It has not yet given any comment about the matter.
